A study from India has found that exclusive breastfeeding and adequate sunlight exposure both decreased the chance of a child aged up to 60 months acquiring an acute lower respiratory tract infection.

High levels of parental warmth and supervision were found to remove the effect of delinquent peers on offending in teenage boys with callous unemotional traits.

Callous unemotional traits have been found to be more likely to be passed from parents to children when there is household chaos and parental harshness towards the children.

Closeness to grandparents was found to help mediate the effect of some negative parenting behaviors on negative child traits in particular overconfidence, inappropriate assertiveness and withdrawal.
